We brought together five municipalities from Prince George’s County to form a cohort focused on enhancing stormwater management practices.
Using arts planning to transform a basement into a functional creative public space via practical and cost-effective solutions.
We created conceptual designs to convert this two-story rowhome in Baltimore into a haven for artists, featuring studios, a gallery, and communal work areas.
NDC played a key role in envisioning the potential of this space, identifying key architectural elements, leading the engagement approach, synthesizing the information gathered into a prioritized programming list, and drafting an impactful vision report.
NDC provided pro-bono design services through our Community Design Works program to help this independent non-profit library envision how to best optimize their space for new programming.
For this large-scale project, we assembled dozens of professionals who donated a total value of $110,000 for their expert services. The result was an impactful master plan that secured a $26M Federal TIGER Grant to make these community visions and reality.
NDC assisted in designing a traffic calming plan for the extended Cecil Elementary footprint.
Hope Village will become a model for addressing homelessness in cities. We created a planting site plan that includes native vegetation, private yards for each home, and a shared community garden.
NDC met with residents, sharing green infrastructure strategies and gathering input through surveys and discussions. Site analysis and a concept plan were developed to address areas most impacted by stormwater runoff.
This project is a cornerstone of the park’s equitable development plan, ensuring that it remains accessible and inclusive to the surrounding community.
