Duval High Greening and Student Education

Slide 1 of 3

Our work with DuVal High School exemplifies how NDC provides continual technical assistance to a community over time, often utilizing multiple funding sources and connecting the community partner to outside resources. NDC supported the school in twelve projects over the course of five years, drawing on three separate funding sources. These projects all involved students in the design and installation processes, transferring knowledge about native plants, stormwater issues, and green infrastructure solutions.

    • Rain barrel demonstration given to students and staff

    • Rain barrel and rain garden design capable of holding 330 cubic feet of stormwater

    • Addition of 289 plants suggested in combined planting designs and plans
