We are delighted to introduce our newest urban planner, Eli Pousson! He’ll be based in Baltimore, Maryland. Eli earned a Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and has spent the past nine years working at Baltimore Heritage, supporting public history programs and historic preservation. Some of the public history programs he covered during his time there include an archaeological study of Patterson Park and historic districts in Greater Rosemont.
Recently, Eli spoke at a COVID-19 Housing Preservation Coalition Launch and at an event hosted by the Central Maryland Transportation Alliance. Both focused on the aspects of daily life, housing, and transportation that have been affected drastically by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently, Eli is working with our Community Design Works program on initiatives including outreach to the Ellwood Park and Baltimore Highlands neighborhoods to develop housing-focused community plans and enhancing vacant lots and green spaces for the Baltimore Environmental Equity Partnership.
Eli’s latest research includes examining the health effects of demolishing vacant houses and establishing a play street initiative with Bikemore and the Baltimore Department of Transportation.
In addition to his work with NDC, Eli enjoys volunteering as an organizer with the annual Baltimore Family Biking Open House. We are excited to have him on the team and to share the work that he is doing!
