Volunteer Spotlight: Feyi Quadri

Meet NDC Volunteer Feyi Quadri. She has volunteered her time, design skills, and creativity on several NDC projects, including the Oxon Hill Branch Library (see the project snapshot here) and Volta Ave artist studios in Brentwood.

We asked her a couple questions!

How has your involvement with your neighborhood, community, or NDC impacted your life this past year?

I’ve made great connections with stakeholders in my community and have been able to give back to the community that helped me be the designer that I am today.

What would you say to someone who wants to get more involved in their neighborhood or community through volunteering, advocacy, or leadership but doesn’t know where to get started?

Look for local boards of causes that you are interested in. Introduce yourself to someone that you connect with and see if there are opportunities to help and lend your expertise. If there isn’t an opportunity at the time, they will keep you in mind for future ones, or connect you with another organization with more urgent needs.
