NDC’s Work with Messiah Lutheran Featured in Baltimore Guide

NDC’s current work with Messiah Lutheran Church was profiled in this week’s Baltimore Guide. Check it out here.

NDC Volunteers Andy Niazy, Wendy McGee-Preti, and Frank Hong are working with the church to develop plans for facade updates that will allow the exterior to better express the small but vibrant faith community within. Possible interventions include new lighting of the front and sides of the church, signage opportunities, new planters, and a “prayer wall” designed to encourage spiritual community interaction regardless of faith preference.

This is the second partnership between NDC and Messiah Lutheran. The first project in the late 1980s marked the first major investment in a rising tide of change for the community. In partnership with Jubilee Baltimore, Messiah developed the rear portion of their church property into senior housing apartments. An NDC volunteer prepared the initial schematic drawings.
