PROGRAM MANAGER Neighborhood Design Center Riverdale Park, MD
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage green infrastructure programs at the NDC Riverdale Park office in Prince Georges County, MD. The program manager is responsible for managing programs addressing design for storm water management, urban and neighborhood streetscape and street tree programs, and project data management and tracking. This position requires the ability to manage multiple programs, manage contracts, update and maintain meticu-lous records, write proposals, prepare reports, oversee staff and remain up to date on current research and best practices of the field. The Program Manager maintains critical relationships with funders, community stakeholders, contractors and partners to ensure the ongoing success of these programs.
In addition, the Program Manager will assist on several other programs within the Neighborhood Design Center, including but not limited to: Community Design Services, the annual “Clean Up, Green Up” Day, and other special projects. As this is a small nonprofit work environment, tasks are varied and a flexible mindset and willingness to “pitch in” are highly valued. Neighborhood Design Center is a team-oriented, creative work environment. This position requires occasional evening and weekend attendance at meetings and other events.
Compensation is commensurate with experience. Salary range is $50,000-55,000. This is a full-time position with benefits. Benefits include paid vacation and holidays, sick leave, health, dental and life insurance and 403(b) retirement plan. EEO.
Minimum qualifications
-Bachelors Degree in Environmental Planning, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Urban Forestry, Environmental Studies or related fields. Masters degree a plus. -3-5 years project management and/or program management experience. -Excellent communication skills including public speaking, writing, phone and email. -Ability to work with a diverse set of stakeholders. -Able to complete site visits and occasionally work outside, year round. -Possess valid driver’s license and be willing to use personal vehicle (mileage reimbursable). -Computer skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel.
Desirable qualifications -Masters Degree or 5+years experience in relevant position. -Computer Skills: Arc-GIS,, Microsoft Access, PG Atlas, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite.
