NDC worked under the direction of the Department of Public Works & Transportation to generate a tree planting plan for streets in the Largo Government Center, home to County
offices for the Executive Director, Department of Environment, General Services, Department of Housing and Community Development, Redevelopment Authority, and DPW&T.
This work resulted in the removal of 170 invasive Bradford Pear trees
481 new trees planted — 10 new species added to the area, including American elm, lacebark elm, zelkova, willow oak, red oak, Nellie Steven’s holly, American linden,
crape myrtle, and two ornamental cherry trees.
NDC provided pruning recommendations and developed photo-illustrative plans and perspectives to describe the changes to the resident agencies and visitors.
