Since 1968, we’ve worked on thousands of projects, both big and small. Here are some of our favorites.
Hope Village will become a model for addressing homelessness in cities. We created a planting site plan that includes native vegetation, private yards for each home, and a shared community garden.
Supporting the development of small food enterprises in Baltimore through our Arts Space Technical Assistance program.
Envisioning how this community oasis in Hyattsville could be improved by bike infrastructure, shade, seating, eating opportunities, and programmed events.
Bringing out the potential of Colmar Manor’s local gathering space through a visioning process.
Mapping out how to incorporate safety, art, fitness, and education through revamped gathering spaces, signage, and more.
Goodwin Park is the largest recreational park in Seat Pleasant, Maryland. The Neighborhood Design Center partnered with the City to re-imagine this space into a cultural landmark.
We helped visualize required renovations for this funeral home turned arts space, featuring studios, offices, and a bar/gallery on the first floor.
We created 3D renderings for a vacant lot to secure resources to transform it into memorial, gathering and play space.
Our partner sought to honor the service of veterans and create a tranquil place for contemplation and gathering. We transformed a road easement into a community asset, maximizing the location’s visibility with access from several points along existing walk lines.
In the 1950’s, a metal barrier separated Brentwood, a sundown town, and North Brentwood, the county’s first incorporated African American town. We helped the two towns to collaborate on creative placemaking and plantings, which secured a quarter million in outside funding.
